Shangyu ballpoint pen factory resume production after successful containment of recent COVID-19 outbreak

Dear customers, our Shangyu ballpoint pen factory has resumed production, and orders will be produced overtime.

With East China’s Zhejiang Province successfully containing the latest outbreak of COVID-19, the majority of local businesses have resumed normal activities, according to media reports.

As of Sunday, 1,850 industrial enterprises in Shaoxing’s Shangyu district, 61 percent of all companies in this sector, had resumed operations with 62 percent of employees returning to their positions, while industrial electricity consumption recovered to more than 30 percent, local news outlet Zhejiang Daily reported.

Several companies in Zhejiang have halted production since December 8 amid tightening local policies as the result of the latest flareup.

Starting from December 8, Shangyu district required local companies, with the exception of manufacturers of PPE or other essential products, to suspend production in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.

The community transmission of the virus has been cleared in Zhejiang’s Ningbo, Hangzhou and Shaoxing since December 20, China Central Television reported.
